Sydney began running casually during university as an efficient means of working out, usually 3-4 times a week. In January 2015, after moving from Toronto to the West Coast of Canada, she decided to get more serious about training with the goal of running a marathon. To do this, Sydney employed a coach and began including workouts into her routine, she also increased her running to 6 days a week. On the way to reaching this goal, Sydney has competed in a variety of races ranging from 5-30 km. She loves training and racing and has become a member of various running groups in British Columbia. Sydney completed her first marathon, The Victoria Marathon in October 2016, with a time of 3:35:13. She will start training in early 2017 for her next marathon.
Tiux compression socks help me recover faster from workouts and prepare me for consecutive days of running, plus I love supporting Canadian brands!
In October 2016, I completed my first marathon, narrowly missing the BQ time for my category by 13 seconds. Hands down, that is my greatest accomplishment, but I know I can do better next time!
I am training for my second marathon, The Eugene Marathon in May 2017. I am targeting a Boston Qualifying time!
Find a group of people who love running just as much as you and run with them as much as you can, running alone is nice too sometimes, but nothing compares to training in a group and the comradery and support that comes with crushing goals together.
